DFW/Houston online radio effort runs through 2010
Campaign completed in Bryan/CS/Waco/Temple
The Foundation completed its four-week Public Education Media Campaign in East-Central Texas on Jan. 17. Newspaper ads ran for four weeks in the Waco and Bryan-College Station newspapers. Radio ads were featured on stations in Waco, Temple, College Station and Brenham, including the flagship stations for Texas Aggie and Baylor Bear sports. A follow-up survey of public attitudes on issues affecting independent oil and gas producers has been finished. Comparisons of before-and-after campaign surveys show that public attitudes improved in numbers similar to results of previous public education campaigns. |

Additional animations, as well as videos on other subjects, are available by clicking on the "Citizen Partnership / Multimedia" menu item. Foundation sends MOLU to Abilene, DFW
In partnership with the Offshore Energy Center (OEC), the Foundation has already sponsored week-long visits of OEC’s Mobile Offshore Learning Unit (MOLU) to schools in the Abilene and Dallas, TX, areas. Hundreds of students used the MOLU to gain knowledge of geology and oil and gas operations. Students and teachers were very enthusiastic (see sign above). Abilene and DFW were the first two of six MOLU visits to Texas schools planned for 2010. For more info on the MOLU and related teaching kits, click on "Education in the Classroom." |
